Telehealth

UMMC has a well-established and active Telemedicine program throughout the state. In collaboration with this program, the neonatologists and the Newborn Center use telemedicine for consultation of neonatal patients throughout the state. We discuss impending neonatal transports, and management of neonates in community hospitals.

This program is also expanding to include physicians accepting patients post discharge and for family interaction with their baby in the NICU for increased communication. Telemedicine is also used for conferences and medical education throughout Mississippi.
